Rajeev Sharma Joins First Investors Management Company, Inc.

New York, NY, September 30, 2009 - First Investors Management Company, Inc. ("FIMCO") is pleased to announce that Rajeev Sharma has joined its portfolio management team.¹ Mr. Sharma serves as Co-Portfolio Manager of the First Investors Investment Grade Fund and the First Investors Life Series Investment Grade Fund.

Prior to joining FIMCO, Mr. Sharma was employed by Lazard Asset Management, LLC in New York as a Vice President and Senior Corporate Credit Analyst. From 2002 until 2005, Mr. Sharma worked at Standard & Poor's Rating Services as an Associate Director, Corporate Ratings.

Mr. Sharma has an MBA from Cornell University and a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to obtaining his MBA, Mr. Sharma worked for Lockheed Martin as an engineer.
