First Investors Corporation Presents Cindy Bordeaux and Forrest Strickland With Grayson Award

New York, NY, August 26, 2009 - At the annual First Investors Cloud Club Convention Awards Banquet on June 27, Senior Vice Presidents Cindy Bordeaux and Forrest Strickland were presented with the David D. Grayson Award in recognition of their contributions to First Investors Corporation. The Award, in honor of its namesake, recognizes both outstanding career achievement and strong personal character. Mr. Grayson joined First Investors in 1950, and served as President from 1968 until his death in 1994. There have been eight prior recipients of the award.

Bordeaux and Strickland have greatly contributed to the growth and success of First Investors Corporation since joining the Company in 1985 and 1986, respectively. They began their management careers in the Beaverton, Oregon office. Under their leadership, it became the top-producing office in 1996, and has remained the top office in the 14 years since. Bordeaux and Strickland now oversee a series of offices, and have helped foster the careers of dozens of First Investors representatives and managers.

However, as Robert M. Flanagan, President of First Investors Corporation, pointed out in his presentation speech, Cindy and Forrest have had a significant impact on the entire First Investors sales organization, not just their region. Said Flanagan, "They have created so much opportunity and raised the bar so high for all First Investors representatives and managers." He went on to praise their character and integrity, saying, "Cindy and Forrest not only do the most business, they do the best business."

Upon accepting the award, Bordeaux and Strickland received a rousing ovation from the over 450 people in attendance.
