First Investors Sponsors Student Visit to New York FedNew York, NY, April 29, 2011 - On Friday April 8, 2011, the Hartford, Connecticut office of First Investors Corporation sponsored a visit to New York City's Federal Reserve Bank (the "Fed") by economics students from Central Connecticut State University (CCSU) in New Britain. A group of 42 students, led by Economics Professor Mitchell Charkiewicz, toured the Fed, located in the city's financial district, to learn more about the organization's role and responsibilities. After the tour, the students had the rest of the day free to enjoy city attractions such as the New York Stock Exchange, the Statue of Liberty, Chinatown and the Museum of Modern Art. On the bus ride into New York City, the students watched a short video about internship and career opportunities at First Investors. Interested students can attend a luncheon to be sponsored by First Investors Corp. on April 29 at CCSU. First Investors Corporation Senior Vice President Paul Prete said, "We're pleased we were able to help these students pay an in-person visit to the Fed to enhance their learning experience. It gave them a chance to see firsthand the important role the bank plays in shaping the country's economy." First Investors has been in business since 1930.
